There’s no one thing to eat or drink that will take away all the stress of planning a wedding, but a combination of some should definitely help!
1. Plenty of water
Purified, spring or alkaline water is best to ensure proper hydration and avoid any last minute toxins!
2. Detox water
Speaking of water, we highly recommend detox water. The blends of herbs with fresh fruit with help sharpen your mind to keep stress at bay. One of my favorites is cucumber, mint and raspberry.
3. Kombucha
With its natural fermented state, you’ll be drinking your probiotics! This will help to keep your digestive system healthy, which is always a good way to reduce stress.
4. Green and herbal tea
Tea has many health benefits and some of the most powerful antioxidants in the world. It also doesn’t give your body a jolt of energy, but slower releasing energy, unlike coffee.
5. Dark Chocolate
I know, we’re best friends now that I said that. 🙂 Chocolate covered walnuts are a bonus because you have the combo of cacao vitamins and antioxidants with a healthy fat loaded with omega 3. You’re welcome!
6. Maca powder
Try it in your smoothie or your greek yogurt parfait, but Maca is known for its mood boosting flavonoids and hormone balancing compounds. It’s also said to fight free radicals. Win, win!
7. Green leafy vegetables
I know, you’re shocked! But seriously spinach can go in anything from salad to soup to smoothies and greens are rich in folate, which helps your body produce mood regulating neurotransmitters. Think serotonin.
8. Fermented foods
Drinks like kombucha and foods like yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut and more create a happy digestive tract. Happy gut, happy mind! Remember, our gut is our second brain, so we have to keep it healthy.
9. Blueberries
Bonus if they’re wild caught! The antioxidants found in blueberries aid in production of dopamine, which is critical to coordination, memory function and mood!
10. Omega 3
Omega 3 can be found in wild caught fish like salmon, and nuts and seeds, like walnuts and chia seeds. This powerhouse nutrient plays a huge role in emotional well being. If you’re not eating it enough, consider taking a supplement.
